This service is aimed at those dyslexic individuals who are either:
in high level career based training and experiencing difficulties in completing their studies/training
or
qualified professionals who need support to develop successful coping strategies to overcome weak areas of competence.
A typical client would be referred by a Line Manager, Occupational Health or Human Resource Department or an Organisation / Association related to their profession.
What does the service involve?
Initial 1-2 hour consultation with a senior specialist who will:
- Gather information about the requirements of the client
- Consider and evaluate existing reports and documents relating to the client
- Discuss and agree a plan of action suited to the client’s specific needs
- Prepare a written report and Action Plan with recommendations
The recommendations may include:
- Assistive Technology Advice and/or Training
- Workplace strategies
- Referral advice
- Short courses embedding some or all of the following:
- Study Skills for HE
- Report writing
- Mind mapping
- Learning preferences
- Organisational techniques
- Time management techniques
- Course of 1:1 specialised tuition in literacy or numeracy
Fee: £300 per session
