Visual Stress Test (VST)
Research has shown that some people find reading difficult because of unstable eye movements, which make tracking text very difficult.
Quite often people have problems with excessive glare when reading black print on white background. These problems can sometimes (not always) be alleviated by using coloured overlays, coloured paper or wearing glasses with tinted lenses. The best colour to use depends on the individual.
The VST has been designed to follow the scientific research behind this phenomenon. It is a systematically controlled test to find out:
- How much an individual can improve their reading speed with the use of a coloured overlay
- Which colour is most suitable for the individual.
The cost of the test includes the provision of two A5 coloured overlay sheets to suit the needs of the client.
Our Helpline is able to supply high quality coloured transparent overlay sheets in the standard range of colours recommended by the Institute of Optometry. An A5 sheet costs £3.50 plus p&p.
