Richard Holt is fundraising for The Dyslexia Association

Richard Holt will be running the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half Marathon on Sunday, 30 September 2018 to raise money for The Dyslexia Association.

Richard’s Story

I am running the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham on the 30th September 2018 and have decided to try and raise money for The Dyslexia Association.

The Dyslexia Association are a Nottingham based charity which helped me enormously after I discovered two years ago, at the age of 47 that I was dyslexic. I had always suspected that this may be the case but it still came as an emotional shock. My employer, the Press Association helped me by putting me in touch with The Dyslexia Association and agreeing to to pay for some tutorials which provided me with valuable advice, support and assistance.

The Dyslexia Association provides a wide range of expert and high quality services to directly assist and improve the lives of dyslexics of all ages.

They also provide advice and assistance to their families, educators and employers and work to raise awareness of the condition within the wider community.

Their team of specialists strive to deliver effective individual support in all cases, professionally and impartially.

They receive no government funding to cover their costs so I thought that I would try and help where I could by trying to raise money by seeking sponsorship by running the Robin Hood Half Marathon.

Help The Dyslexia Association

As Richard has said, we don’t receive any government funding to cover the cost of our free information and advice through our Helpline.  We really do appreciate it when our clients are able to support and fundraise for us.  Thank you so much Richard for doing this.
